I’ve had to take a few days off from updating the memorial wall, but there has been an incredible number of miscarriages of Justice in the last week. I will do my best to update the wall in the next few days, so please check back.
Thanks to a concerned reader, I have learned that Australia has commissioned a study to find out the prevalence of Campus Rape within their own University System. Good on Ya Mates! I’ll be interested to review the results.
Completely unrelated to FBOM but my book Writing Tips #42 (which has very few actual writing tips) is currently doing very well in the UK. I’m sure it would be doing even better if those silly Brits didn’t spell Humor with an extra “U”. 😉
I received a review that from a reader of the Advanced Reader Copy of FBOM that was everything an Author could hope for an more. There are levels of joy that occur when someone likes your work, or get’s what the story is really about, but when both come together it’s a magic all of it’s own. A smile crosses your face and your heart starts to race. The feeling of warmth and joy that your work is both appreciated and understood fills an Author with pride and happiness.

The review that blew me away… ( Direct Link to Review )
I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading FBOM, but it kept me hooked from beginning to end.
At first I thought it was going to be a pretty brutal thriller throughout, but then the development of the characters provided context and led to an understanding of the motives for their actions. The fine line between appropriate punishment for heinous crimes and vengeance was explored skillfully while the underlying romance storyline was not forgotten alongside the primary plot.
The story does involve sexual assault, which the author describes with incredible insight into the psychology of the victims, exploring feelings of guilt and confusion following an assault.
Altogether I have been blown away by this and give it a rare 5*. This is an important subject handled sensitively while still being a thrilling novel – everyone should read this book.
